When we signed our agreement with the RVA (Régie des Voies Aériennes) in January 2026, we had one goal: prove that AfriGates could transform an airport's operations in just four weeks.
The Challenge
N'djili International Airport (FIH) is the gateway to the Democratic Republic of Congo — a country of 100 million people. The airport handles over 1 million passengers annually across 20+ airlines, but was running on fragmented systems and manual processes.
Week 1: Onboarding & Data Migration
We began by understanding the airport's current operations. Our team worked with FIH staff to:
- Document existing flight schedules and operational procedures
- Extract historical data from legacy systems
- Map the physical layout of terminals and gates
- Identify integration points with airline systems
Week 2: Configuration & Branding
With data in hand, we configured the AfriGates platform for FIH:
- Applied FIH branding (logo, colors, local language support)
- Configured flight schedules and gate assignments
- Set up FIDS screens across the terminal
- Created user accounts for all staff roles
Week 3: Staff Training
Technology is only as good as its users. We conducted comprehensive training:
- Operations staff: flight management, gate assignments, delay handling
- Finance team: revenue reporting, parking management
- Marketing: CMS for airport communications
- IT team: system administration and troubleshooting
Week 4: Go Live
On February 1st, 2026, FIH went live with AfriGates. Our team was on-site for 72 hours straight, monitoring every system and handling any issues in real-time.
The Results
Within the first month:
- Gate assignment time reduced by 40%
- Passenger complaints about flight information dropped by 60%
- Parking revenue increased 15% due to better tracking
- Staff productivity improved with unified dashboards
Four weeks. One platform. Transformed operations.
